I Can Write Every Word For You
If you have a story you want to tell, or ideas you want to share, but struggle to get them onto paper I can do that for you. Perhaps somewhat bizarrely I’m dyslexic – but it means I understand there are plenty of people who have a voice but perhaps lack the written language or keyboard skills to match. I work well with them.
Whether it’s a memoir, businesses book, kid’s story or genre fiction the important thing is that it is always your story and your voice, although I am always there to help steer the narrative and workshop the language if things in your mind get a bit stuck.
That’s why with a full writing engagement the first thing we do together is work to find your voice – you’ll do a lot of talking and I’ll do a lot of listening until I have the right tone of voice locked into my mind. For me it’s a bit like being an actor – I have to get into your character.
Thereafter we develop a synopsis and an outline plot, then agree a time-phased action plan, setting out benchmarks for regular review. The one point I would make here is that you, as executive author, have to be prepared to set aside time for reading and review.
